The Company is renowned for traditional English chintzes.
Many are produced from archive material, printed in England
on the finest cloths (nowadays not necessarily chintz
and without compromise - if 24 screens are needed for
the best result, 24 screens will be made. Jean Monro is
also one of a very few companies editing Hand-block designs.
Due to the process the printing takes a
long time but the effect achieved is well worth it, as
it produces a look that cannot be copied satisfactorily
by any other method.
In 2005, Jean Monro added the Hazelton House
range of English hand blocks and screen prints to its
collection and the company now believes it holds the largest
range of hand blocked prints in Europe.
Jean Monro fabrics are available through
selected interior designers and
retailers throughout New Zealand.
